Subject: Agenda for AMQP TC meeting 2012.12.04

Here [1] is a draft agenda for the AMQP TC (Technical Committee) meeting scheduled on Tuesday December 4, 2012 during 7-8am PT. Meeting dial-in details are below [2].

Thanks.

[1] Draft agenda for 2012.12.04 AMQP TC meeting

  1. Roll call
    1. You can directly record your attendance starting 10 minutes prior to the meeting.  Go to this particular meeting event (https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/amqp/event.php?event_id=33935) in the TC calendar and click “Record attendance”. This will save us time by not having to do the full roll call at the start of the meeting.
  2. Approve agenda
  3. Approve minutes from previous meeting(s)
    1. Minutes from November 20, 2012 meeting: TBD
  4. Review action items and progress

a.      List of actions: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/amqp/members/action_items.php

  1. Discuss and resolve open issues
    1. See JIRA: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&mode=hide&pid=10082

  1. Discuss work plan for producing core extension Work Products (Global Addressing, management/monitoring, distributed transactions, claims based security, etc.)
    1. We need initial proposals for these various Work Products so we can jump start the work. I like to invite those who are interested in creating those proposals to step forward and craft those proposals. We can use the action items to track the progress of the various proposals during TC meetings or alternatively use sub committees to work on the various proposals. Once we have those initial proposals, we can refine them, and advance them further along the standardization process.
    2. Let’s identify the Work Products that we like to focus on first and who is interested in crafting the initial proposals. Once we have clarity on the specific Work Products we like to work on first, we can then determine the editors for those various Work Products. Typically, we need at least one primary editor and a set of secondary (backup) editors for each one of those Work Products.

  2. Discuss next steps leading up to the international standardization of AMQP 1.0
    1. See https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/amqp/download.php/47617/Timeline%20for%20AMQP%20TC%20deliverables.htm.

  3. F2F meetings
    1. Face-to-face meetings in general enable focused conversations and help make quick progress in a short span of time. Let’s discuss and determine when/where is a good time/place to meet.
