Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (AMQP-81) [Global Addressing] Example SRV Records

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/AMQP-81?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=36126#action_36126 ]

Rafael Schloming commented on AMQP-81:
--------------------------------------

The example is correct here, the text preceding the example should be fixed. There are two defined services, amqp and amqps. The protocol is any protocol for which we have defined a binding, currently only _tcp as of the posting of this comment.

We need an example of going from a non formal srv name, e.g. //example.net as opposed to //_amqp._tcp.example.net. We need to make it clear that it is up to the implementation what variants of amqp to query, and that they need to query all the things they care about in their own preference order.

We may need a note here about web sockets, or possibly a reference to the web sockets specification. At a minimum we need a note about generic protocol negotiation.

> The example SRV records in 3.2.2 don't seem to match the text in 3.2.1
> For example the text talks about protocols tcp and tls however the examples show protocols of tcp and sctp, and moreover distinguish between amqp and amqps as the service. I would think that instead of _amqps._tcp we would be having _amqp._tls?
