Phenomenal Growth In 1999 Validates B2B As Most Significant Innovation 
Since Invention of Assembly Line

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.-January 18, 2000-Extricity Software, Inc. ended the
year by posting record revenues for the third quarter fiscal year ending
December 31, 1999.   The record revenue quarter represents an increase of
more than triple revenues from the same period a year ago.  The jump in
third quarter revenues was driven by the addition of numerous new Extricity
customers, comprising more than 75 different trading partners spanning
several industries.  Extricity is providing these organizations with new,
global B2B initiatives, including e-commerce fulfillment and supply chain
integration.   

"B2B is red hot," said Ken Ross, Extricity Software's president and CEO.
"Companies understand that B2B is much more than digital versions of
consumer catalogs; businesses are looking for a complete B2B solution that
can be rapidly deployed and ready to use in a production environment.  As
the industry's recognized leader in providing the most comprehensive B2B
solution, Extricity continues to set the agenda for B2B," Ross stated.

Last November, Extricity announced a partnership with IBM Corp.  Under that
agreement, IBM will resell and market the Extricity AllianceSeries family of
B2B e-commerce software through IBM's worldwide sales force.  In addition to
the new partnership agreement with IBM, Extricity Software also signed
partnership agreements this past year with Aspen Technology, Inc.,
OnDisplay, Inc. and Manugistics Group, Inc..

In addition to expanding its partnership alliances, Extricity also expanded
its direct sales distribution operations in the U.S. and abroad.  In the U.
S., Extricity tripled the size of its sales force this year and opened six
new sales offices.  The new sales offices are located in Atlanta, Boston,
Cincinnati, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York.  In addition, Extricity
recently expanded its headquarters offices located in Redwood Shores, Calif.
The company now has more than 145 employees worldwide.  

In addition, Extricity last year launched its European operations, and
opened a new office in London, U.K.  In Asia, Extricity also recently
partnered with Unitopia, a Taiwan-based company, who will resell and market
the Extricity AllianceSeries family of products throughout Asia Pacific.
