Business-to-Business E-Commerce Solutions for Seamless Supply Chain Integration

FAIRFAX, Va.January 25, 2000webMethods, Inc., a leading provider of

In today's expanding Internet economy, companies understand the need to
improve business operations by integrating more closely with partners,
customers, suppliers and employees at a much faster pace and on more
universal terms. These companies will integrate webMethods B2B(TM) into
their B2B e-commerce initiatives by completing RosettaNet eConcert pilot
projects to connect their partners in a virtual supply chain.

"webMethods' RosettaNet solution enables us to effectively and quickly
connect with the business systems of our partners, manufacturers and
customers," said Tom Ault, senior vice president of e-commerce for Avnet.
"Using webMethods B2B in concert with RosettaNet allows us to provide a
more advanced level of customer service and enhances the procurement
process by automating business interactions with the members of our trading
network."

webMethods has worked closely with RosettaNet since the consortium's
inception. As the first solution provider and architect partner to join
RosettaNet, webMethods has long recognized the potential of the consortium
to revolutionize business-to-business processes. Through its support and
involvement, webMethods delivered the first interoperable RosettaNet
implementation. RosettaNet's primary goal is to streamline the information
technology supply chain and to improve the flow of critical information
between trading partners. RosettaNet accomplishes this by defining an
e-business framework for products, partners and business transactions.

"We are excited to add these industry leaders to our list of RosettaNet
customers," said Kimberly Trudel, director of Industry Solutions for
webMethods, Inc. "Since the formation of RosettaNet, webMethods has been a
leader in helping companies implement solutions that will meet today's
needs and lay the foundation for future RosettaNet projects. As the
standard evolves, webMethods is dedicated to keeping pace with RosettaNet
to continue to provide customers with up-to-date, comprehensive B2B solutions."

Many companies are preparing for February 2, 2000, RosettaNet's deadline
