Effective immediately Bryan Caporlette becomes vice president of product management, Paul Martin, vice president of product development, and Michael LeMire, vice president of operations. The three executives provide Sequoia with the critical expertise needed to support the company's explosive growth. "Bryan, Paul and Mike are key players whose ideas and management skills help drive Sequoia's development of innovative, XML-based interactive portal and e-business applications," said Mark Wesker, president of Sequoia Software. As vice president of product marketing, Bryan Caporlette is responsible for defining the product requirements and architectural specifications for the Sequoia XML Portal Server (XPS). Prior to joining Sequoia, Caporlette held a series of product and engineering management positions with leading technology companies, the most recent being director of product development at Mountain View, California-based Hynet Technologies. Caporlette is a regular presenter at industry conferences and various SGML/XML user groups. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in systems analysis from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. As vice president of product development, Paul Martin is responsible for leading Sequoia's development of the XML Portal Server. Prior to joining Sequoia, Martin was senior software applications developer for the PDI Division of Bird-Johnson Corporation. Martin has over ten years experience in the software development market, five of which he spent developing commercial software applications. Martin earned a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from Virginia Tech University. As vice president of operations, Michael LeMire is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of Sequoia's overall operations. Prior to joining Sequoia, LeMire was an attorney with Miles & Stockbridge P.C. LeMire has over 13 years experience as a business lawyer and has served as director of licensing and general counsel for Maryland Screen Printers, Inc. LeMire earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics/secondary education from Towson State University (now Towson University) and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Law.
