WEBMETHODS ANNOUNCES WINDOWS 2000 CERTIFICATION
webMethods B2B to Use
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Certification, MSMQ and BizTalk 1.0
Framework, to Facilitate B2B Initiatives
FAIRFAX, VAOctober 5, 2000 webMethods, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBM), the
leading provider of business-to-business integration (B2Bi)
solutions, today announced enhanced support for Microsoft Windows 2000,
Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) and the BizTalk Framework based on
several new product enhancements. The product enhancements leverage
webMethods’ open B2Bi solution and the Microsoft Windows 2000
operating system, Microsoft MSMQ and BizTalk 1.0 Framework, to quickly
and easily integrate vast online business communities to facilitate B2B
initiatives.
Leading the product enhancements is
the Windows 2000 certification of webMethods B2B™, making it first
B2Bi solution to earn certification for Microsoft Windows 2000.
Other enhancements include the release of webMethods B2B Adapters for
MSMQ and BizTalk 1.0 Framework. The combination of webMethods’ Windows
2000 certified B2Bi solution and the MSMQ and BizTalk Framework
Adapters, will enable customers to better take advantage of Microsoft
technology to integrate internal systems with applications used by their
business partners over the Internet in real time.

First B2Bi Solution Certified on Windows 2000
webMethods B2B has become the first B2Bi solution to earn
certification for Microsoft Windows 2000. The Windows 2000 certification
provides concise guidelines to help developers create applications that

cost of ownership for customers. Windows 2000-certified applications,
such as webMethods B2B, provide users with the richest possible Windows
2000 experience, and have passed a tightly controlled, independently

mission-critical information can be received and delivered, through the
MSMQ queue manager via webMethods B2B, and out across the firewall to the

webMethods B2B BizTalk 1.0 Framework Adapter
The webMethods B2B BizTalk 1.0 Framework Adapter enables customers to
create business documents, encode them with the BizTalk 1.0 Framework
envelope, and transport them as BizTalk messages between trading
partners. The BizTalk 1.0 Framework is designed to foster B2Bi
through data interchange standards based on XML. By leveraging
webMethods B2B and the BizTalk 1.0 Framework Adapter, companies will now
have a complete solution to perform full B2B commerce with other
organizations using the BizTalk 1.0 Framework.
Availability
webMethods B2B certification for Windows 2000 is expected to be
available with version 3.6 of webMethods B2B in October of 2000. The MSMQ
Adapter is available immediately, and the BizTalk 1.0 Framework Adapter
is expected to be available in October of 2000.
