Press Release

XML Global and Altova Enter into Product Alliance Agreement

London, UK, XML One Conference, October 19th, 2000 - XML Global
Technologies, Inc. (www.xmlglobal.com), developers of the world's premier
XML based search and transformation e-business software products, goXML(tm)
and expressXCHG(tm), today announced it has entered into a product alliance
agreement with Altova, a leading provider of XML tools, including XML Spy
(www.xmlspy.com). XML Spy is the first true IDE (Integrated Development
Environment) for XML, and has recently passed the 10,000 licenses mark being
used by more than 4,500 corporations worldwide.

Under the terms of the agreement XML Global and Altova will bundle XML
Global's patented EDI/XML transformation engine, expressXCHG(tm), with
Altova's XML editor, XML Spy. The integration of these two key XML
technologies will enable corporations to use expressXCHG(tm) to transform
all EDI legacy data to XML and then use the XML Spy editor version 3.5
within a completely Integrated Development Environment. XML Spy version 3.5,
extends the existing functionality of Altova's XML development environment
by adding the first integrated XML Schema editor which supports the most
recent W3C Schema draft.

In addition product alliance agreement XML Global and Altova have agreed to
develop and collaborate on a co-marketing initiative to increase the
distribution of the enhanced version of the XML Spy.

"XML Spy has proven its superiority in the IDE market," stated Peter
Shandro, CEO of XML Global, "and were looking at EDI/XML transformation
software to complement their product offering. With their choice of our
patented technology, expressXCHG(tm), we believe they have picked the most
powerful transformation technology available and we are excited about the
potential of this relationship and the resulting bundled software product."
Shandro continued, "With 500 new XML Spy licenses being sold each week we
felt this alliance presented an excellent opportunity for XML Global to
broaden its client base and increase overall market awareness of our
complete XML based product suite".
