Virtual Access Networks Announces Desktop Migration Support for Microsoft's Office XP IT departments can use The Van to transport personal settings from older versions of Office to the new Office suite. LAWRENCE, Mass. - May 31, 2001 - Virtual Access Networks, Inc., announced today that its enterprise migration platform - The Van - will provide full support for desktop settings migration for Microsoft's newly released Office XP. With this first of its kind support, IT managers will be able to easily deploy Office XP applications throughout an enterprise while preserving critical user data and configuration settings that were established in older versions of the popular Office suite. "This is great news for IT departments that want to minimize the impact of an Office XP migration within their enterprise," said Gerard Lynch, Founder of Virtual Access Networks. "Now, users can become immediately productive with Office XP without wasting time manually restoring all of their personal settings." Migration support for Office XP will become available as part of an upcoming release of The Van, the company's award-winning desktop migration product. Currently, The Van provides extensive support for migrating application settings and personal files from one PC environment to another. The Van supports more applications and settings than any other product in the marketplace, supporting over 60 applications and over 4,000 individual settings. Awarded Best New Enterprise Product at COMDEX Fall 2000, The Van is the only migration solution that leverages the power of XML to fully automate complex migration scenarios at the desktop level.
