GoXML(tm) Transform Introduced as a Web Service at Solutions, The IBM
Technical Developer Conference
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Broad Participation in Trading Networks is Now Possible as Small and
Mid-Sized Businesses Can Easily Plug In and Transform Their Information

Vancouver, B.C., August 20th, 2001 - XML Global Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB:
XMLG), an XML middleware company, introduced GoXML(tm) Transform as a Web
Service at Solutions, The IBM Technical Developer Conference, held in San
Francisco August 13th to 16th. XML Global, as an IBM jStart technology
partner, presented at the conference, which drew more than 3,000 attendees
from over 50 countries. GoXML(tm) Transform is the Company's patented
solution for the dynamic exchange of XML, EDI and other data formats and was
presented for the first time as a Web Service.

By configuring GoXML(tm) Transform as a Web Service, businesses and
organizations will be able to expose legacy data systems, using a simple Web
interface, to multiple trading partners. This means that a particular firm,
regardless of their specific data format requirements, can exchange
information with any trading partner without having to incur expensive or
time consuming system changes. Overall, GoXML(tm) Transform as a Web
Service, will result in a more efficient and cost effective Web based data
delivery system.

"We were delighted to attend this event as an IBM guest," said Peter
Shandro, CEO of XML Global. "Since the formal announcement of our technology
partnership with IBM and the IBM jStart program, we have been continually
impressed with IBM's commitment to promoting XML technology within the
context of both B2B applications and Web Services. XML Global's products,"
continued Shandro, "are ideally suited to a Web Services environment and
with IBM taking a strong lead in this area we are confident the market for
our solutions will grow rapidly."

The GoXML(tm) Transform Product Line provides virtually unlimited data
flexibility by offering strong mapping capabilities, robust support for EDI
transactions, an extensive library of mapping templates, an XML based
repository and XML-based registry with support for ebXML and UDDI. GoXML(tm)
Transform offers a practical non-intrusive approach allowing XML technology
to be introduced in phases. This unique software not only co-exists with
existing systems but also extends their capabilities, providing an easy,
inexpensive means for companies of any size to exchange data in structured
electronic formats.

Solutions, The IBM Technical Developer Conference, is IBM's largest
gathering of developers, offering the industry's richest and deepest
technical resources. Attendees include large and small corporate developers,
web solutions and web applications developers as well as IT executives,
managers and CIOs. The conference is designed to promote the very latest
