Virtual Access Networks Announces Client State Migration Support for
Microsoft's Windows XP
Enterprises to radically reduce OS upgrade costs with The Van migration
solution

LAWRENCE, Mass. - October 29, 2001 - Virtual Access Networks, Inc. announced
today that its client state migration solution, called The VanTM, will
provide full support for application, network and systems settings migration
for Microsoft's new Windows XP operating system. The Van will enable IT
departments to automate upgrades from any previous Windows environment to
Windows XP, effectively saving up to $500 per desktop and preserving
employee productivity.
"CIOs recognize that migrating to Windows XP will be among most difficult
enterprise upgrades to date," said Steven Fisch, president and CEO of
Virtual Access Networks. "We designed The Van to simplify the complex
process of upgrading from any previous Windows desktop to Windows XP. Our
automated solution eases the administrative workload, helping IT departments
save time, enterprises save money, and employees maintain the highest level
of productivity."
Microsoft has identified migration automation as a requirement for Windows
XP deployment. The Van's centrally managed server, fully automated
migration process, built-in support for more than 70 applications, and
robust cross-OS capabilities make it well-suited for large enterprise
migration projects.
For companies upgrading to Windows 2000, Virtual Access Networks is
currently shipping The Van 2.2, which is automating PC migrations for
leading insurance, financial services, and government enterprises. Virtual
Access Networks will begin offering Windows XP support in the next four- to
six weeks.
