Subject: [announce] Invitation to XBRL International Conference - Berlin - 4-8March 2002
Please find below a description and invitation to the upcoming XBRL International conference, focused on financial services, in Berlin, 4-8 March 2002. Briefly, XBRL ("eXtensible Business Reporting Language") is the XML standard for business reporting, including such uses as financial statements, regulatory filings, general ledger, tax filings, statistics, and other kinds of non-financial reporting. It can be used by every organization in every industry. XBRL International is a consortium of over 130 companies, organizations and government agencies working on XBRL development and adoption in five continents. The 4th International XBRL Conference - March 4-8, 2002 in Berlin. This year's conference will be held at Grand Hotel Westin in Berlin, the traditional capital of Germany, on March 4 - 8, 2002. The theme of this conference is "XBRL Meets the Needs of Financial Services". Different tracks will focus on the impact of XBRL on: - Banking and Insurance Regulatory Reporting - Credit Risk Monitoring During the opening public day, XBRL will be officially introduced for the first time to the financial community in Germany, with a keynote presentation by NASDAQ Europe CEO Mike Sanderson. Highlights of the conference will include the introduction of the International Accounting Standards and the German-GAAP taxonomies, the release of the XBRL General Ledger taxonomy, and the establishment of new XBRL work items for the banking and insurance sectors, among others. Broad participation of XBRL users and vendors can be expected.
