Subject: [announce] OASIS Member News: Vordel partners with General NetworkServices to develop Web services

21 February 2002 - San Jose, Ca. and Ottawa, Canada - Vordel, the Web
services security company, today announced at the RSA Security
Conference that General Network Services (GNS), a leading provider of
security, authentication, and authorization solutions in the Canadian
market, has joined the Vordel, VIP partner program.

GNS has been at the forefront of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI),
authentication and authorization, and directory solutions since its
founding in 1996. GNS has leveraged its current expertise and Canadian
market position in PKI services and middle-ware development to expand
its current offerings to include services and application development
in the burgeoning area of XML based security and authentication.

As a result of this strategic alliance, GNS will incorporate the
VordelSecure product into its existing security offering. GNS will be
in a position to provide scalable solutions to its customers that
deliver the benefits of high-performance business integration in a
secure trading environment.

"This alliance allows Vordel to further expand in the North American
marketplace said Sean Rogers, VP of Business Development for Vordel
USA. "GNS offers a progressive approach to the provision of security
solutions for commerce between trading partners. By partnering with
Vordel, they can now offer solutions at the vanguard of Web services
technology that permit organizations to securely expose their business
processes to their trading partners."

Because Vordel's flexible security solution operates within whatever
existing security infrastructure an organization may have deployed,
VordelSecure can easily integrate with the GNS PKI service offering,
enabling GNS customers to deploy digital certificates quickly and
easily. VordelSecure resolves the issues surrounding the security,
accountability, integration, and performance of transactions conducted
between corporations across the Internet.

Michael Pluscauskas, President & CEO of GNS said "We are pleased to
have a partner of Vordel's calibre providing us with technology. As
specialists in the deployment and implementation of PKI, directory,
and authentication systems for clients such as the Government of
Canada, it is essential that we create solutions that satisfy the
heightened security requirements of our customers. The alliance with
Vordel helps us to do this."

"VordelSecure will enhance our delivery of state-of-the-art security,
accountability and performance features required by our customers for
their high-value transactions," added Pluscauskas.
