Subject: [announce] OASIS Member News: BNI Paris with HyperVision, Ltd.
BenefitNation Partners with HyperVision, Ltd. to Include WorX™ for Word and WorX Server in Proprietary Enterprise Publishing Solution CHICAGO, Ill. –April 8, 2002– Today HyperVision, Ltd., developer of XML tools for business content creators, announced it has formed a technology partnership with BenefitNation, Inc. (BNI). Backed by the resources of Bertelsmann AG, BenefitNation is a leading provider of electronic and paper publishing services. BenefitNation has incorporated WorX for Word into its Enterprise Publishing Solution and will include the HyperVision product among its suite of XML based publishing solution offerings. BenefitNation’s Enterprise Publishing Solution is an XML based component management publishing platform that leverages BNI’s proprietary rules based assembly application for the real-time construction and personalization of documents for any output format. The solution also handles both workflow management and the conversion of XML components and documents to Microsoft® Word for further editing. WorX for Word, the premier product of HyperVision’s WorX technology, will operate as the XML to MS Word conversion component within the Enterprise Publishing Solution both as a server-based application and as a desktop tool, allowing users to achieve the benefits of XML while continuing to author and edit text in their familiar MS Word environment. BNI's use of WorX Server is a beta test situation. HyperVision does not anticipate a full commercial release of the WorX Server with all its features until third or fourth quarter of 2002. “We are pleased to list BenefitNation as our partner in what we perceive as a future-forward, mutually beneficial relationship,” says HyperVision President Bert Sheingate. “With BenefitNation’s own partnerships with Documentum, Bertelsmann and XyEnterprise, the relationship brings great depth and scope to our potential client base in the enterprise publishing arena and it brings more options and increased expertise to the service of that kind of client, as well.” All components of BNI’s solution, including WorX for Word, are designed to streamline the creation, storage, re-use and publishing of common components of business critical content. For example, in a managed care organization, the personalized production of thousands of different certificates of coverage and riders can be managed programmatically utilizing the business rules driven assembly and personalization process within the Enterprise Publishing Solution. The application will customize and produce the documents with variable information relating to products, member demographics and state mandated language in an automated manner without any human intervention. “As publishing platforms continue to migrate toward XML, we feel our partnership with HyperVision and our incorporation of the WorX based tools are both good fits with our strategic direction within the XML space” said Bill Reulein, BenefitNation President and Chief Executive Officer. “It was a long search process to find the right technology to enable MS Word to XML conversions for our solution,” added Zach Wittenberg, BenefitNation Vice President of Strategic Relations. “In the end we found WorX for Word to be the right choice for enabling the conversion process and for our internal document specialists to use in the XML editing and tagging process. We were also impressed by the ease with which our developers can integrate and customize WorX technology using the WorX for Word application programming interface.” BenefitNation (www.benefitnation.com) is a leader in electronic and paper based publishing services, including enterprise-wide document management, typesetting, internet applications, printing, distribution, and business automation solutions for multiple industry segments. Some of the vertical segments served by BenefitNation include healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, automotive, manufacturing industries and associations. Bertelsmann AG holds a majority interest in BenefitNation. The company's executive team is based in Dulles, Virginia with technology operations located there and in Silicon Valley. Headquartered in Chicago, HyperVision, Ltd. (www.hvltd.com) has developed WorX™ for Word, the most functional plug-in to Microsoft Word for producing XML. WorX for Word takes advantage of current user skills and assets, letting authors be experts in their business, not in XML. Current and developing WorX products show the HyperVision commitment to creating solutions to structured content that fit the enterprise environment while maximizing user comfort and productivity. XML data generated from WorX technology is quickly re-purposed from web to print to wireless, easing content management tasks. US clients using or recommending WorX products include KPMG Consulting, the State of California, XyEnterprise and BenefitNation. International clients and partners include the Dutch Library for the Blind and Mediasystemen, also in the Netherlands. # # # For HyperVision, Contact: Kirstin Rogers Marketing Manager HyperVision, Ltd.
