Business Layers to Join Microsoft Identity Management Initiative

Announces Integration with Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003; Makes Active Directory Default LDAP Directory; Introduces Focused Product for Microsoft Administrators

ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. - July 2, 2003 - Business Layers, the eProvisioning Company(tm), today announced broad support for Microsoft's newly announced Identity Management offering, which will help customers reduce the cost, risk and complexity associated with managing end-user identities.

Microsoft today announced that it has established a relationship with several key Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), including Business Layers, to provide the best third party identity management solutions to customers.  Business Layers' award-winning eProvision(tm) Software uniquely addresses the needs of the Microsoft user community, by providing tight integration with Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 and other key Microsoft systems, on the industry's only completely Microsoft-based provisioning product.  Business Layers is the only provisioning software provider chosen to support Microsoft's identity management initiative.

Business Layers announced today that it will support Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003 through an eProvision(tm) Module (ePM), or connector, for out-of-the-box integration with Business Layers' eProvision Software.  The ePM for MIIS 2003 automatically establishes, configures, updates and terminates user entitlements based on a person's business profile.  In related news, Business Layers also announced that it is making Microsoft Active Directory the default underlying LDAP directory for eProvision Software, allowing for the seamless management of Active Directory-based applications and services.

In addition, Business Layers announced today eProvision(tm) Microsoft Edition software, the newest offering within the Business Layers eProvision Software family of products.  The new product is uniquely tailored to address the provisioning needs of Microsoft enterprise customers (see related release,"Business Layers Adds eProvision Microsoft Edition to Its Family of Provisioning Solutions").  eProvision Microsoft Edition is based on Business Layers' eProvision Software, which allocates IT resources according to business policies, providing an efficient, secure, systematic and scalable system for creating and managing resources for all users.  eProvision Microsoft Edition is a rapidly-deployable, easy to use, tailored provisioning solution with self-service and password reset capabilities, as well as connectors to Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003, Windows Server 2003, Exchange, and Active Directory.

"As we roll out our identity management offerings, industry partners like Business Layers play an integral role," said Jackson Shaw, product manager at Microsoft.  "Business Layers has proven time after time that it understands the critical issues customers face while planning their identity management strategies, and knows how to meet customer demand with specialized and powerful provisioning software."

"Microsoft continues to set the standard for unparalleled reach and presence with customers across a host of technologies and industries," said David Lavenda, vice president of Marketing and Product Strategy at Business Layers. "We are pleased to have been selected by Microsoft as one of the vendors of choice for their Identity Management offering."
