Subject: New Linely Group Research Highlights Datapower's Application-aware Vision & XG4 ASIC-based XML ChipSet

New Linely Group Research Highlights Datapower's Application-aware
Vision & XG4 ASIC-based XML ChipSet

WHO: The Linely Group's "A Guide to Security and Content Processors,
Fourth Edition"

WHAT: In new research from the leading provider of independent
technology analysis and strategic consulting for the networking-silicon
industry, the Linely Group highlights DataPower's XML Generation Four
(XG4(tm)). In 2004 DataPower was the first to break the Gigabit Barrier
for XML processing with the introduction of its fourth generation
ASIC-based XML chipset, XG4. DataPower XG4 subsystems offer OEMs
field-proven, patented XML processing technology in a broad range of
form factors, speed ratings and features. The XG4 architecture combines
DataPower's custom XML silicon, off-the-shelf components and proprietary
driver software to perform XPath and XML Schema validation directly in
hardware. The XG4 product family allows OEMs, such as network vendors or
blade server manufacturers, to embed XML Web Services security in
traditional firewalls or security switches, to include SOAP load
balancing in server load balancers, and to deliver XML acceleration and
XML routing in traditional IP routers or blade servers.
For more XG4 information, Jim Ricotta, president and CEO at DataPower,
and formerly general manager of Cisco Systems' (NASDAQ: CSCO) Content
Networking Business Unit, will join the "Silicon Support at Layer 7: XML
& Vertical Protocols" panel being moderated by CMP Publishing's EETimes
editor Loring Wirbel at the 2005 Embedded Systems Conference on March 9,
from 2-3 p.m. PST, San Francisco, the Moscone Center, Room 202.

WHEN: Linely Group's research "A Guide to Security and Content
Processor, Fourth Edition" is available now.

WHERE: http://www.linleygroup.com/Reports/security.html

WHY: This report is written for engineers who are designing networking
equipment and need to select a security or content processor; Marketing
and engineering staff at companies that sell networking chips that
connect to security or content processors; Technology professionals who
wish an introduction to security or content processors; Financial
analysts who desire a detailed analysis and comparison of
security-processor companies and their chances of success; Press and
public-relations professionals who need to get up to speed on this new
technology.
