Latest XML Firewall Release Sets New Standard for SOA Security Scalability and Manageability

Interop, Las Vegas, May 2, 2006 – Layer 7 Technologies, a leading provider of XML Security and Networking infrastructure for SOA, today announced general availability of its 3.5 Security operating system for its SecureSpan family of XML Gateways and Firewalls. The operating system adds new clustered policy and session features for enhanced scalability and manageability.

Current generation XML Firewalls and Gateway products do not support automatic policy replication or session persistence across clustered deployments. This limits their ability to consistently and reliably enforce security policy or protect against session dependent transactional threats. The new 3.5 operating system adds automatic policy replication, session persistence and multi-gateway monitoring for simplified scaling and management of enterprise XML Firewall deployments. Like Layer 7’s entire suite of XML Gateways and Firewalls, it is accelerated using Tarari’s RAX-CP silicon.

New features of the 3.5 Security operating system include:

-         Automated policy replication across clusters

-         Automatic stateful fail-over

-         No-downtime configuration change management across clusters

-         Cluster-wide session persistence for replay and man-in-the-middle protection

-         Cluster-wide PKI management

-         Clustered XSLT acceleration
