Subject: ASAP Client now available

I am happy to
announce that we have gotten Jeff Cohen's ASAP client running on a machine that
is accessible to the internet. This should be useful for testing
independent implementations. The application is available as a ZIP file,
and installation is trivial, if you want to use it in a protected environment
behind a firewall.
There is also a
simple server which comes up as the default factory URL in the client. You
can try an interaction between the client and the server easily. Please
try it out.
On thing to note:
The UI for context data is rather crude ... you must enter the XML
manually. The service provided requires that the XML match the schema
exactly. It requires a single X tag, Y tag, and Seconds tag. The
Seconds tag specifies the number of seconds that the server will wait before it
completes and sends the completion notice. If you dont include all these
fields correctly, you will get an error message. The Result contains the
sum of X + Y. We are looking for a friendlier way of specifying the
message, but this should be OK for now.
If you want to test
this client with your own server, put the factory URL into the prompt.
Remember, that URL needs to be valid from the client machine, which is on the
internet. Let us all know how it works.
