Discussion
Points
- New version of Spec
available (thank you Mayilraj!) we should make this publicly
available. I have attached a document showing the differences (changes)
that Mayilraj made. It is a lot of work, and a good
improvement.
- Issue: demo client
message body problem, a fix is available for this, to be installed today or
tomorrow.
- Issue: authentication of HTTP
request. Need to decide proper course. Spec says we support
security of the lower layers, which includes HTTP authentication, but Jeff
Cohen is unsure how to integrate this into the .Net framework that he is
using. We probably need to disable authentication for the interop, but
we need to have an answer for the long term. Alternative is WS-Security,
but nobody on the call had experience with this.
- Issue:
GetInstanceProperties & GetFactoryProperties - GetProperties, as sepcified
is appropriate solution for now. John will raise this for discussion if
he is still uncomfortable with this in the long term.
- Issue: WSRF, GRID
forum. Resource Properties looks good (see separate message on this
topic) but dependence upon WS-Addressing is a critical roadblock. Keith
has sent a message to David Snelling about this.
- Issue: There is an
XML schema pattern to restrict things. WSDM discussion on states:
Is it URLs or is it QNames? URLs can have signatures.
Right now we just have strings, and that is OK, but what about the
future. Have seen URN that is hierarchical.
- Issue: WSDL
interface, making it part of the spec. Currently not in specification at
all. There is WSDL at source forge and another with Jeff Cohen.
Need to resolve differences. Broke into factory and instance.
Implementation issues with types of clients that use this. Huge number
of issues when encountering document models, and such. Need some WSDL so
ti can be used, but issues cause there to be several different WSDL
document. Mayilraj will look into this.
- Issue: Demo
preparations are moving forward. We have more than 1000 observers
signed up. We still need a participant brochure. Staffware
will be implementing the protocol, and participating in the
demonstration.
- Issue: Interop
scenario: two scenarios: a simple order process for ASAP, ddata goes in, doe
some processing, and return. Published the output from XML spy from
that, and can publish the schema. The other side is the interoperability
of WfXML with multiple partners. We have a schema ... looks like it
needs to be simplified.
Meeting ended 11:12
am pacific time.
