Subject: Registering Namespaces (UNCLASSIFIED)
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONE All, Apparently, you don't "register a namespace". You define a namespace for your standard (in your schema, WSDL, reference architecture, etc.) You use something that is unique (that's why people use a URL that they have control over). OASIS has rules for generating namespaces, but not registering them. (But, in effect, when you name your project, you are really getting a namespace by default. Oasis says: "HTTP scheme namespace URIs should be rooted at http://docs.oasis-open.org/[TC-shortName]/ or (preferably) at [TC-shortName]/[productName]/ - or possibly otherwise, as negotiated with TC Administration )." So, we apparently have no responsibility to OASIS to register a namespace, just to produce a standard using their rules.
