One clarification:
As a reminder, without an LOA, you gain or lose voting rights if you attend or miss two consecutive meetings respectively.

OASIS LOA Policy Update |
Hi,
As per an action item I took at the last TC regarding LOA administrivia, I spoke to OASIS staff. Martin is indeed correct when he suggested that adopting a standing rule making the LOA rules more flexible would conflict with OASIS rules. So we'll have to follow the LOA process as documented here:
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/process.php#leavesAbsence
the net of which is:
1. If you need an LOA, send me an email specifying the start and end date. It "shall be obtained automatically upon application to the Chair". I will note your application in the next TC minutes as required by OASIS process.
2. If you need a second LOA in "any twelve month period" the TC will have to formally approve it. I will add a recurring agenda item to cover this.
3. You cannot apply for a third LOA in "any twelve month period".
As a reminder, you gain or lose voting rights if you attend or miss two consecutive meetings respectively.
