Subject: RE: [bpel4people] Promoting BPEL4People

Hello Carol,

I just has a small E-Mail exchange with Dennis, and after I suggested a
correction, that Oasis is indeed supporting BPEL4People (after all it is a
new TC) he was quoting the FAQ of the BPEL-TC.

I think the whole situation with those two TCs is not entirely clear to the
public. A statement like:

- The BPEL-TC finished ist work by providing the standard, and Extensions
are now produced by Oasis in new TCs (like BPEL4People).

Should maybe be published. I feel not very comfortable in writing such an
article on bpel.xml.org, but I am willing to help. Maybe we can even et
Dennis to contribute? Therefore I have copied him.

Greetings
Bernd

I read this in an ebizQ blog today...

"[As an aside, BPEL is also evolving under a movement called BPEL4People
that is intended to make it more human-centric-workflow based. OASIS doesn't
appear to want to get involved. So that effort is even slower--maybe even
stalled--than the BPMN/BPDM exercise within OMG.]"

Should we be doing more to promote the BPEL4People work? Would a webinar,
interop, or workshop be appropriate in 2009? Keep in mind, if we want to do
an interop or workshop at a conference, we should be planning that 6-9
months in advance, just so we can secure the slot with the conference
organizers.

If you'd like us to attend an upcoming TC meeting to discuss promotion,
please just let us know.

Carol
