BTP Issue 23 : Lack of minutes to support decisions
Category: editorial
Submitter: Bill Cox, (for all BEA members)
Submitter's identification: issue B. This issue was marked as
"procedural and editorial" by the submitter
Problem:
On studying the email logs and web site, few meetings appear to have
anything resembling contemporaneous minutes, showing decisions made and
discussion justifying those changes. The document might be attacked as
being less legitimate with this lack of history.
Proposed Remedy:
As suggested elsewhere, ensure that minutes for meetings and specific
minuted (is that a word?) discussions on the topics support the editor's
current draft. Taking inventory of contemporaneously-written minutes and
filing them on the web site in addition to the several already there would
add to the apparent well-foundedness of the Draft and the group effort.
To comment on this issue, please follow-up to this announcement on the
bt-spec@lists.oasis-open.org (replying to this message should automatically send your message to that list).
The current draft,
with line numbers is available in pdf format and
word format.
To add a new issue, please email to Peter Furniss
peter.furniss@choreology.com. It helps if you propose a category (technical, minor technical, editorial,
minor editorial).
