Subject: [business-transaction] RE: Marketing and publicity

Hey Mark I don't disagree ...

I am simply explaining that the current specs surrounding Web Services have
taken this approach - WSFL, HTTPR, XML Schema, UDDI. I certainly have found
this approach pretty good in helping people understand and gain acceptance
and adoption. I agree that the first step however is getting the spec to
completion and reviewing how best to bring it to market.

The other Mark...

PS: Now as a side note however - my opinion only... While OMG specs are good
and some great work I think many would agree that CORBA and other specs
from OMG have not been as successful as they could of been because of their
very heavy technical and comprehensive nature.. I think this did affect the
potential for adoption ( i.e. simple and incremental ) - I am sure you
disagree and maybe over a beer we can go a few rounds on this. So - I agree
the spec should not be a "user manual" but it should not be so complex and
far reaching that adoption and application is only possible by groups of
very technical people that have spent years in the transaction world.

Cheers!

I don't know which specifications you refer to, but check out OMG
specifications that are defined by industry, for industry, and have been in
use for longer than many other types of specification we are used to today.

Mark.
