Subject: RE: [business-transaction] Tentative Hold Protocol?

I had not heard about it until your question. There may be overlap,
requires further reading.

Abstract
The objective of Tentative Hold Protocol is to facilitate automated coordination
of multi-business transactions. Tentative Hold Protocol is an open, loosely
coupled, messaging-based framework for the exchange of information between
businesses prior to the actual transaction itself. Tentative Hold Protocol
defines an architecture that allows tentative, non-blocking holds or
reservations to be requested for a business' resource (e.g., the items for sale
from an online retailer).

BTP'ers:

I've recently heard about a Note that has been submitted to W3C called
Tentative Hold Protocol, which appears to overlap or duplicate the work
that the BTP TC is doing. Does anyone know anything about this Note, or
the work that it describes, and how it relates to BTP? Could you fill me
in?
