Subject: Re: [business-transaction] next BTP face to face
My two cents (0.02 Euros?) -- I'd like to see a stable new draft, including the model and (separate) primer sections available for detailed internal review two weeks before a face-to-face. Given that we don't have that draft yet (though pieces seem to be pulling together), I think that the early March dates are just that - too early. I think we have a shot at an early April date if we can have the complete reviewable draft by March 15 or earlier, which I believe is the current goal. I think that a F2F to attempt to produce a committee draft is a waste of time until we have the complete draft that can be reviewed in advance by non-initiates. Otherwise we'll have another round of 'I need to get the right people in my company to look at this and there's not enough time.' In short, too early an F2F, and one without a stable draft in advance, including the model section we'd agreed on, will DELAY getting to an approved committee draft. If the F2F is to chew over already posted issues, I don't have the same objections, and would find the early March dates that don't overlap with the OMG Web Services Workshop (i.e., only the Friday of that week, March 8th, for a ONE-DAY meeting) quite acceptable. But are there enough issues that can't be resolved by phone and put off the travel investment until we can come to a broad consensuss on a committee draft? Given my other commitments and the timing, skipping out on a day of the OMG meeting is not acceptable to me. That meeting ends at 4:30pm on Thursday, March 7th. bill cox William Z Pope wrote: > Hello, > There have been several dates proposed for the next BTP face to > face meeting.
