Dear Bill and others,

In a word   Bother!

In more words  -  I would like to apologise for absence from the call today
(although I know it makes no difference from the OASIS rules point of view).
I was out this afternoon with my laptop of, so I did not get a reminder
(until too late) and had dinner with the family while I should have been on
the telecon.  Sorry.

More to the point I note that another teleconference is being arranged for
5:00 pm (UK time) next Tuesday (13 Jan 04).  Can I please ask for a leave of
absence for that meeting - I have to be over at my son's college for a
parents' evening by 5:30 so will need to be leaving around 5 pm.
