I wanted to call your attention to the several working drafts specifications that the rule interchange format (RIF) working group of the W3C has published recently for public comments [1]. In particular:

* the specification of RIF basic logic dialect (RIF-BLD) [2] is in its "Last Call" public comment period. This is the time for people to read it and tell us, the working group, about anything that doesn't seem right. After this, if you don't like something in the spec, it will be increasingly hard to get it changed;

* the RIF-RDF-OWL specification [3], also in its Last Call public comment period, explains how RIF-BLD interacts with RDF and OWL;

The other working drafts that were published for public comment are:

* RIF framework for logic dialects (RIF-FLD) [4] describes how to specify a RIF dialect that extends RIF-BLD, that is, for the interchange of rules that go beyond the expressive power of RIF-BLD;

* RIF data types and builtins (RIF-DTB) [5] specifies the data types, functions and predicates that are built in RIF dialects. It is the first public working draft of this document;

* RIF production rules dialect (RIF-PRD) [6] is an early draft of a format for interchanging production rules. This document is also a first public working draft of the specification;

* A revised version of the RIF uce cases and requirements (RIF-UCR) [7] document.

We would like comments by September 19 in order to consider them for our next set of revisions.
