Subject: Dieter's CD2 comments -- Ch.1 & Ch.2

Ref:  http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/cgmo-webcgm/200509/msg00093.html

Dieter's comments #1 - #10, on Abstract through Chapter 2, are all
editorial -- they apply only to non-normative sections. I propose that
they be resolved (after the CD2 review period closes, of course!) as follows:

Comments #2, 3, 9, 10: just as suggested by Dieter.

Comment #1: Remove the sentence from the Abstract and integrate it into a
rewrite of the 1st paragraph of 1.3. The following text and 3-bullet would
replace the 1st paragraph of 1.3:

[[[
The original WebCGM 1.0 profile resulted from a collaboration between the
CGM Open Consoritium and W3C Graphics Activity. The requirements that
determined the content selection for CGM 1.0 were derived from:
** the requirements articulated in the document "W3C Scalable Graphics
Requirements" (http://www.w3.org/Graphics/ScalableReq [grfreq]);
** the specifications and requirements defined in "Use of CGM as a Scalable
Graphics Format" (http://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-cgm [cgmreq]);
** technical recommendations from the CGM Open Consortium (see
http://www.cgmopen.org/).
]]]

Comments #4, 5, 6, 7:  In #6, Dieter says, "all attributes are
optional". That's true except for 'layername'. So I suggest that
"required" be added to the wording of the 'layername' bullet, optional be
struck from the other bullets, and a sentence be added after the bullet
list, to the effect that all APS attributes are optional except 'layername'.

Comment #8: I suggest, s/attributes and properties/attributes as well as
elements/

Discussion welcome.

Regards,
-Lofton.
