Subject: ISPs once again
WebCGM TC -- Here is an interesting wrinkle that I didn't think about when we were discussing withdrawal of the four ISPs. One of the ISPs is in fact the Model Profile: DISP 12071-3 Basic Presentation and Visualisation (Model Profile) Does that change our recommendation? After some consideration, I can't actually think of any reason why it should. The implication of 12071-3 is that the MP, as it stands, is a profile for Basic Presentation and Visualization. But AFAIK, no application sector has actually adopted it for such use in some real-world application environment. And it is embedded in ISO 8632 as the template upon which to define other profiles, which (IMO) is its proper function. And appropriate status/stature in ISO. Thoughts? Regards, -Lofton.
