Subject: RE: AW: [cgmo-webcgm] getObjectExtent tests

Hi Stuart,

I don't know what is happening. Using "Validate by file upload," I got the
same result as Ulrich -- many errors. See his attached screen shot and his
message below (where he said that all errors disappeared with removal of
the XML declaration. See also his comment about the 'meta' element.)

So I tried the Validator tab "Validate by Direct Input". In a plain text
editor, I did SelectAll on getObjectExtent.htm (attached), and pasted the
resulting 111 lines into the Validator's direct-input window. I got the
same results as you -- passed! Actually, one warning that said "Using
Direct Input mode: UTF-8 character encoding assumed".

Very strange ... the same file fails on my system (and Ulrich's) by upload
option, and passes (but check 'meta'!) with direct-input option.

Perhaps Thierry or someone else knows what is happening.

-Lofton.
