Subject: WebCGM 2.1 status & outlook
All -- Status summary: The OASIS 15-day public review of the W3C "final" (CR-exit) document is in progress. It will finish on 9th December. No comments or changes are expected. Next steps: The TC then must have a 7-day electronic Special Majority Vote to approve Committee Specification status [1]. Following that, a 7-day Special Majority Vote to request processing as an OS [2]. Outlook: We in WebCGM TC had hoped that OS ballot could happen in January, so that final joint publication could happen in February. Unfortunately, delays built into the Process, staff delays in getting the formal reviews/votes started, etc., mean that won't happen. Long story short, it is impossible now for the OASIS TC to meet a Process-defined December 15th deadline, and the default consequence is that the OS ballot can not happen till February **AT EARLIEST**! Simultaneous publication will not happen until March, at earliest. (It is possible that it could even slip further, if we don't get our two votes lined up and started ASAP.) Questions? Regards, -Lofton.
