Subject: RE: [cmis] Gilbane proposal for CMIS white paper

Carol,

Microsoft would definitely like to participate in the white paper. Ryan Duguid (cc'd) is the right contact person from Microsoft to coordinate funding .

Subject: [cmis] Gilbane proposal for CMIS white paper

CMIS TC members:
OASIS has received a proposal from the Gilbane Group (http://gilbane.com/) to develop a six- to eight-page white paper on CMIS--the problems it addresses, and the value that it will potentially deliver to buyers, users, and developers of content management systems. The paper would not be intended for an IT audience only, but for the broader community that struggles every day with the challenges of integrating heterogeneous content systems.

Funding for this white paper ($12,000) would come from one or more CMIS TC Sponsor members. The cost would be divided by the number of TC members that choose to sponsor (e.g., if three companies are willing to sponsor the white paper, the cost for each would be $4,000).

Gilbane analysts propose to interview the CMIS TC co-chairs and representatives from the companies that sponsor the white paper. The OASIS logo and the logos of the white paper sponsors would be featured on the final document.

All TC members would have the opportunity to review the draft and provide comments to Gilbane before the final version is produced. All Sponsor-level members in the TC would be listed in the body of the paper.

The final white paper would be distributed to attendees of the Gilbane Boston conference, 1-3 December 2009. http://gilbaneboston.com/

If your company is interested in funding this paper, or if you or your marketing/sales department would like more details, please let me know. In order to have the white paper finished in time for the conference, sponsors must be confirmed by 20 October.

Regards,
Carol
