Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (CMIS-785) Latest state dependent object

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/CMIS-785?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=49842#comment-49842 ]

Ken Baclawski edited comment on CMIS-785 at 11/3/14 5:04 PM:
-------------------------------------------------------------

The intention is that one can only have a link to a document. So there would not be a capability for a link to a folder.

All operations on a symbolic link are on the link itself except for get/set/append/deleteContentStream and getRenditions which are for the document.

The properties of a link are also for the link itself, except for cmis:contentStreamLength/MimeType/FileName/Id, which are the same as the referenced document.

> Define a latest state link as having the following characteristics:
> - a latest state link is a dependent object: it has a single parent object and should be automatically deleted by the repository when that parent is deleted.
> - the parent object is a folder object: a latest state link can only exist within a folder.
> - a latest state link specifies exactly one latest accessible state identifier.
> - when a latest state link is accessed, it is automatically dereferenced to a document object in exactly the same manner as the latest accessible state identifier.
> -- a latest state link may be informally regarded as having an "immediate parent" consisting of the version series of the latest accessible state identifier (However, the document need not have a version series.)
