Subject: Re: SV: [codelist] a codelist
The examples I was thinking of using from UBL and/or FpML are examples of simple code lists in genericode format. In terms of examples that are used within the text of the spec to demonstrate how genericode "looks" as angle brackets, it probably makes sense to try and use the simplest examples where possible. That said, I think the document needs one or two examples of simple code lists in genericode format, but would also benefit from at least one more complex example, e.g. a code list with multiple keys, a code list that uses and external column set, a code list with many metadata columns, perhaps a code list with a complex (XML) valued column. I'm sure there are other "complex" things that an example could show as well. I don't expect examples to show everything, but it would be good to give some demonstration that genericode does more than just the simplest and most obvious stuff. So, if anyone wants to contribute a more complex example, it wouldn't need to be available right now for use in the text, but would be great in an appendix as an example. Cheers, Tony.
