Subject: Candidate namespace XHTML document with RDDL attributes
Attached are two versions of a namespace index.html file I think we can use for the URL of the namespace URI: http://docs.oasis-open.org/codelist/ns/genericode/1.0/ I'm not sure if it would help the public review if we created a directory along the lines of the following, and have the OASIS server map the actual URI to this one: http://docs.oasis-open.org/codelist/ns/cd3-genericode-1.0/ I suppose when we complete the committee specification, the directory would be as follows, again linked from the URL of the namespace URI: http://docs.oasis-open.org/codelist/ns/cs-genericode-1.0/ And when we complete the OASIS standard, the directory would be as follows, again linked from the URL of the namespace URI: http://docs.oasis-open.org/codelist/ns/os-genericode-1.0/ The cd3 version to be posted is attached with the name cd3index.html and would be posted with the name index.html. The diagnostic version is named cd3index-revealed.html and you can use this to see exposed RDDL and anchor attributes for visual confirmation. I've published a stylesheet called showrddl.xsl on Crane's free developer resources page that I used to create the diagnostic rendering. . . . . . . . . . . Ken

<p class="normal">This document describes version cd3-1.0 of the <a rddl:nature="http://www.rddl.org/"; rddl:purpose="http://www.rddl.org/purposes#directory"; href="http://docs.oasis-open.org/codelist/ns/genericode/1.0/";>genericode</a> namespace "<a href="http://docs.oasis-open.org/codelist/ns/genericode/1.0/";><samp><small>http://docs.oasis-open.org/codelist/ns/genericode/1.0/</small></samp></a>". It also contains a directory of links to related resources using the
<a href="http://www.openhealth.org/RDDL/20040118/rddl-20040118.html";>Resource Directory Description Language (RDDL) 2.0</a>.</p>
<p class="subtitle">Namespace URI Versioning Policy</p>
<p class="normal">It is the intent of the OASIS Code List Representation Technical Committee that the genericode namespace URI will not change arbitrarily with each subsequent revision of the corresponding <!--WSDL or -->XML Schema documents but rather change only when a subsequent revision, published in conjunction with a Committee Draft, results in non-backwardly compatible changes from a previously published Committee Draft.</p>
<p class="normal">Under this policy, the following are examples of backwards compatible changes that would not result in assignment of a new namespace URI:
</p>

<li class="normal">addition of new global element, attribute, complexType and simpleType definitions</li>

<li class="normal">addition of new elements or attributes in locations covered by a previously specified wildcard</li>
<li class="normal">modifications to the pattern facet of a type definition for which the value-space of the previous definition remains valid or for which the value-space of the preponderance of instance would remain valid</li>
<li class="normal">modifications to the cardinality of elements for which the value-space of possible instance documents conformant to the previous revision of the schema would still be valid with regards to the revised cardinality rule</li>
