Subject: Public Review of Code List Representation (Genericode) v1.0 - 15 day review

To OASIS members, Public Announce Lists:

The OASIS Code List Representation TC has recently approved the following
specification as a Committee Draft and approved the package for public review:

Code List Representation (Genericode) Version 1.0

The public review starts today, 23 Nov 2007, and ends 08 Dec 2007. This
specification was previously submitted for a 60-day public review on 17 May
2007[1]; and subsequently for a 15-day public review on 16 Oct 2007[2]. This
15-day review is limited in scope to changes made from the previous review. All
changes are indicated in the change log below[3].

This is an open invitation to comment. We strongly encourage feedback from
potential users, developers and others, whether OASIS members or not, for the
sake of improving the interoperability and quality of OASIS work.

More non-normative information about the specification and the technical
committee may be found at the public home page of the TC at:
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=codelist. Comments
may be submitted to the TC by any person through the use of the OASIS TC Comment
Facility which can be located via the button marked "Send A Comment" at the top
of that page, or directly at:
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/comments/index.php?wg_abbrev=codelist.

Submitted comments (for this work as well as other works of that TC) are
publicly archived and can be viewed at

to OASIS are subject to the OASIS Feedback License, which ensures that the
feedback you provide carries the same obligations at least as the obligations of
the TC members.

[3] Change log:
* the conformance rules are now grouped by category;

* in CD2, the 'xml:lang' attributes were all replaced by 'Lang' attributes. The
semantics of 'xml:lang' are that it defines the language of the content within
the element to which it is attached. In CD1, 'xml:lang' was also being used in
situations where a language attribute in one part of a genericode document
(column set section) was defining the language for elements in a separate of the
genericode document (simple code list section). It was only this particular
usage of 'xml:lang' which should have been replaced by 'Lang', not all usages of
'xml:lang'. This has now been corrected in CD3.
