Subject: Reuben Tozman and the DITA Content Schema for TEEX
Hi, You're invited to join with members of the DITA learning and training content sub-committee for a special meeting next Thursday, Feb. 15. Reuben Tozman of edCetra training will be speaking about the DITA content schema for interactive online learning that he recently developed with the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) at Texas A&M. Reuben has done some very exciting work, and this session promises to give us a big jump-start as we start our detailed design discussions for the DITA learning specializations. See Reuben's abstract below, and look for my invite to follow with full meeting details. This session is open to anyone with an interest in this topic. Please join us! John Hunt Chair, OASIS DITA learning and training content sub-committee IBM Software Group/Lotus Software ------------------------------------------ Title: Content Schema for Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) By Reuben Tozman, edCetra Training Thursday, February 15 at 11 am - noon US ET Meeting details to follow in separate invite Description: TEEX was interested in designing a content schema that would support both its print based training documentation business as well as its endeavor to create interactive online learning that was compliant with SCORM specifications. TEEX was a traditional DITA shop and had recently purchased an XML based Content Management System and a SCORM compliant Learning Management System. In understanding the value of single sourcing, TEEX wanted to ensure that they would be able to benefit from the technology which they adopted. edCetra Training helped TEEX build an XML schema that incorporated the business requirements of single sourcing, DITA and SCORM specifications and Blooms Taxonomy which was the prevailing instructional design approach at TEEX. This session will present the schema to the working group and discuss the various elements within it.
