No meeting last week, but it has been a busy several weeks!

Jeff Ogden has been testing and reviewing the DTDs.

# DTDs, Schemas, and sample content updates - new versions to be posted for review by full TC on March 28
# Technical specification updates - awaiting integration with the DITA 1.2 specification content - April
# Processing starter kit for DITA OT plugin - target having ready by April 30

    * For SCORM templates, need to resolve how to provide the schemas and javascript needed for the SCORM package
    * Need to set up the Ant scripts
    * Need to set up the plugin and integrator scripts
    * Need to test with sample content
    * Need to develop some "best practices" for using the processing templates

Finally - we need at least THREE usage endorsements for the learning specialization, from OASIS members. I'll have one from IBM - who will be the other two?

We may be the first to create a metadata domain that works for both topics and maps!

The learning templates (4a, 4b and 6), Bill Blackmon has taken those templates and created working interactions for template 6!

There is an issue or dispute regarding the IP on the SCORM standard. The dispute is between IMS and ADL. IMS is now asserting their ownership for some of these schemas, and they have not come to an agreement yet with ADL. There may be some issues with us being able to produce a SCORM package!

John has met with the chair of the IMS, and is trying to work out some resolution for this issue. This may be resolved with the IMS Common Cartridge (http://www.imsglobal.org/commoncartridge.html).

There was a large "meeting of the minds" in Korea regarding the issue, and DITA was mentioned prominently in the discussion (positively!). Allyn Radford from our SC was in attendance.

Status on DTDs:
Jeff Ogden has been doing a thorough analysis of our Learning schemas. John has been working with Jeff to resolve any issues. There will be a new post to the OASIS documents area soon.

John created the overview diagram (http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/27720/bigpic.JPG)

Scott: seem to be missing a label for learning object? Should this be on the tan box around Plan, Overview, etc.?

John: good question. Perhaps a better place would be in the learningMap domain? Also, the domain elements are available, not just for learning topics and maps, but for the base maps and topics in DITA!

John: looking for suggestions for how to improve the starter kit

Jeff: Would be nice to generate some kind of slide output as a starter kit?
PDF  or some form of PowerPoint? Jeff to look at some options and collect additional ideas!

Scott: perhaps Slidy-compliant? (http://www.w3.org/Talks/Tools/Slidy/)
John: Eric Hennum and I presented an approach for creating slides from DITA. Might be something similar. 

John: Need everyone to review and test, test, TEST! Content, Metadata, assessments, maps, etc.

John: Scott (or others) still need some additional support around Ant and packaging.

Also, regarding interactions, still need some better ways to represent them in our base processing and how feedback should be presented. Any takers?

Still need some folks to make a statement of use. Need to do some additional research on what constitutes "use" according to OASIS.

Status of FAQ: Wayne is not going to be able to continue the work on the FAQ.
