Patrick:
John’s explanation is the direction intended by the
question. Question #3 should be a generic answer where Question #4 can go
into more detail.
Does this sound correct?

>>I
started working on the learning content FAQ this weekend, but couldn’t
remember just what we meant by “components” of the DITA learning
specialization. (see question 3 on the faq wiki page) Is the question referring
to…
· the
topic specializations (learning plan, etc.)
· the
files that make up the plug-in?
· instructional
objects and informational objects?
· Something
else?
Hi Patrick,
since it looks
like the next question will address the specifics, maybe the answer to
"what are the components" is something like
The components
of the DITA learning specialization are a) a set of specialized DITA topic
types that support structured authoring and delivery of learning and training
content, b) a specialized learning map domain to structure those topics into
learning objects and groups, c) an interactions domain to define
assessment questions, d) a metadata domain to provide learning metadata
that is modeled after the IEEE LOM elements, and e) a set of "starter
kit" processing for delivering as stand-alone HTML, PDF, and SCORM.
Though maybe
Jeff had something else in mind by component?
John
