But a proposal for DITA 2.0 will allow this.

Best,
Kris

If we do that, than the element <lcCorrectResponse2> wouldn’t be needed anymore.

I would use the attribute directly on the answer-element.

For a new DITA L&T version an alternative could be to think about semantic elements for correct and incorrect at least within single and multiple select. Not all questions will need that e.g. in <lcSequencing> you should have enough using <lcSequence2 value=""> to know what’s correct or incorrect.

For consideration: Add an optional attribute indicating correct/incorrect for question responses.

Thanks and best regards,

Hi Scott,

Yes, we had to use XSL to process the interactions into syntax that was specific to the LMS.

However, the LMS handles randomization of the individual interactions, as well as randomization of the answer options, when presented to the user.

I've got one piece of immediate feedback for the SC, which I can formalize, if you need.  Because <lcCorrectResponse2> (and <lcCorrectResponse>) is only indicated by its presence or absence, it doesn't play well with CSS. CSS will only display something that exists.

I was trying to create an Author-mode CSS in Oxygen to make it easier for authors to create learning content. I wanted to present a checkbox for <lcCorrectResponse2> to turn it on or off. However, if an option is not the correct response, there is no <lcCorrectResponse2> to drive the CSS. I went through all kinds of gyrations to make it work, but eventually gave up.

It would be very useful if <lcCorrectResponse2> contained an optional attribute indicating correct/incorrect. That way, the element could be present in all options.

However, I do understand the complexities this might introduce for backward compatibility.

Sounds good. Thanks!

Also, I'm interested in the transforms you created for LearningDITA. Did you have to create custom XSLs for the interactions, or does the LMS handle the rendering of the interactions?

The Learning SC is active once again. We would be very interested in any feedback or requirements you or your customers might have!

Also, FYI, the TC decided to decouple the work of the Learning SC from the specification for DITA 2.0, so we will hopefully be able to make more frequent releases and enhancements for the Learning specialization.

Thanks and best regards,
