Subject: Re: [dita-lightweight-dita] Response from Tech Writer at GitHub
Hello there:
One of things I was tasked with at the previous meeting was to find someone at GitHub on their tech docs team with the idea of possibly getting them to adopt some DITA-related principles in the next version of their spec.
This evening I got an answer back, which I think you will all find intriguing:
Hey Keith,
Thanks for reaching out about this! Since we use an extended version of the CommonMark spec, the best way to get new features incorporated is to get them added to CommonMark itself:
I'm not familiar with DITA, but if you can share some more information about what specific changes you're interested in, I'm happy to pass those along to the team!
Best,
Shawna
So even they do not use GitHub-flavoured Markdown. And they are open to getting new features into CommonMark.
Any suggestions as to next steps?
Cheers!
