Subject: DITA Machine Industry SC: Meeting Minutes 2007/04/17

3.1) 
- Short Report from Robin Sloan about DITA / S1000D / SCORM summit in
Washington DC. 

A face to face group meeting would be helpful. Potential dates are the
DITA Europe
Conference in November or another event in Summer. 

3.2)
- DITA 1.2 List Update:

Chris reviewd the requirements specific to the Machine Industry
Subcommitee. They
are:

 - 12024 - 12039 - 12040 - 12041 - 12053 - 12057

- There is a second proposal dealing with tasks:

This work is aimed to create a more general task. There is a potential
overlap
however there are currently no plans to merge the two proposals.


3.3)
- MI01 Hazard Statement Domain, DTD by Chris Kravogel

Chris added the mi-task body as a starting point for further DTD work
(extensions / modifications).
There might be some problems regarding the completeness of the package.

- MI02 Elements in Step, Proposal from Gerald Goetz about adding note as
first element in step

Gerald has requested examples from a customer in the machine industry.
Gerald expects the examples in the next week.
The discussion will be postponed to next meeting.

- MI 03 MItask, Proposal by Icos, modification by Gerald Goetz

- General discussion about wether the DITA Machine Industry SC should
adopt S1000D content models.
- Consensus that only fragments should be adopeted. Decision criteria:
volume and complexity of
  S1000D data model
- Robin points out the requirement for tool-lists in task prerequisits
- In an earlier meeting we discussed an element for tools parts and
consumables (tpc).
- There is a need for a block and an inline element. Block for the list,
inline for the reference
  of a tool in that list or in other document parts-
- Chris suggest that ALL MEMBERS should look at the S1000D XSD schemas.
We want to discuss adoption
  candidates in the next meeting.


3.6)
- MI 04 Generic Topic without Domains Proposal from Chris Kravogel about
removing software, programming, ui and utilities domain from core dita
topics.

This proposal will be discussed in the DITA TC Committe. It will not be
discussed in the 
DITA Machine Industry Subcommittee.

4) Announcements/Opens 

The meeting on may 1 will be skipped (Labour Day Holiday in Germany).

The next meeting will be on May 15.
