Subject: Re: [dita-sidsc] text for SIDSC proposal for DITA 1.3
Nancy;
I apologize for the slow reply. I got distracted by your response to Jayaram and failed to make the mental note that you're still waiting for a "yea/nay" from me.
The wording you've proposed looks perfect to me.
Thanks!
Bob

As it happens, for 1.3 that's not exactly clear. Basically, we'd like it to be treated the same way as the eLearning and Machine Industry specializations. In DITA 1.2, that meant being included as part of the DITA 1.2 set of DTDs within the DITA Open
Toolkit ../dtd hierarchy. For 1.3, it's likely that the 'official' DTDs will be broken up into a number of different packages, in order to allow folks who want a really basic version of DITA to get the minimum installation. But in any case, we want the
SIDSC DTDs to be packaged in analogous ways to the way the 'official' specializations from other DITA TC subcommittees are packaged.
DITA 1.3 isn't available to be used yet; all the changes are still in the proposal stage. Once the accepted proposals are actually implemented, there will be a number of alpha and beta iterations of DITA 1.3; we'll have to test and make sure the SIDSC
work is compatible with those versions. We probably will want to update our modules as well to be versioned 1.3.
