Agenda:
1. roll call
2. "mid-summer checkpoint"
5. adjourn
Item 2:
We primarily had an open discussion regarding
- Altera's DITA adoption ramp
- Freescale's current focus on moving to DITA 1.2
Since Altera is starting their ramp with DITA 1.2, they won't face the 1.1 to 1.2 migration issues that Freescale is facing. However, since the SIDSC register specializations were created prior to the existence of 1.2, there is some migration effort needed.
Nancy provided some input from the DITA TC regarding timing of the 1.3 ratification effort and the (follow-on) simplified DITA profile. Given the late-2014 estimate for a fully ratified DITA 1.3, it doesn't seem prudent to revamp the SIDSC specializations
for 1.3.
However, due to the re-worked DTD directory structure for 1.2, some minimal work should be done to make the SIDSC modules "DITA 1.2 based" even though the current implementations may not directly build on any of the 1.2 architectural enhancements.
Finally, Nancy reported that a task group focused on interoperability of XML assets in a CCMS is gaining traction, although that effort will most likely not be carried out under the OASIS umbrella (note that this group is not related to the
CMIS TC effort). The challenge to be addressed by this task group is structured content revision and release control across various vendor's implementations. JoAnn Hackos is spearheading
this effort, and Bob will touch base with her.
Respectfully,
Bob Beims
