Subject: RE: Proposal to add the XML domain to the TechComm part of DITA 1.3 specification: Do you agree?
I vote Yes Thanks, Sue From: dita-techcomm@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:dita-techcomm@lists.oasis-open.org]
On Behalf Of JoAnn Hackos The DITA TC is close to approving a proposal (https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/dita/download.php/47181/proposal-13035-xmldomain.html?referring_url=%2Fkws)
to add a new domain to markup XML elements explicitly. It will include elements to mark up mentions of XML syntactic components, such as elements attributes, parameter entities, and processing instructions. These will be specializations of <keyword>. Eliot
Kimber has already developed this domain for his XML for Publishers specialization. A typical element is <xmlelem> which identifies the mention of an XML element type or tag name. Typical use might be <xmlelem>my-tagname</xmlelm> . You can see
other examples at http://dita4publishers.sourceforge.net The DITA TC wants an agreement from the Tech Comm SC about including this domain as part of the Tech Comm part of the DITA 1.3 specification. I see no objection
to agreeing with this section. Tech Comm users of DITA might be discussing the XML domain, more likely than Semiconductor or Machine Industry. Would each voting member respond to this email with a yes/no vote. Voting members are Sue Blaisdell, Rob Hanna, Dave Helfinstine, Seth Park, and me. Any other
member is welcome to express their opinion as well. Thanks for your help, JoAnn JoAnn T. Hackos, PhD President Comtech Services Inc. 710 Kipling Street, Suite 400 Denver, CO 80215 303-232-7586 |
