Subject: RE: [dita] DITA 1.2 Suggestion - Add helpcontext element to topicref

Dear Deborah

The resourceid is in the topic prolog, whereas I was thinking of a helpcontext element in the ditamap topicref. And yes, this is for context-sensitive Help purposes. A topic may be used in different help systems, and might require a different context hook for each. Thus my reasoning that the context metadata belongs in the map.

Also, although the resourceid element is a close fit, my understanding was that it's intention was more to associate a topic with something like a transaction id or screen number in the application that the topic is supporting. You might require both a transaction reference and a context hook. Although the prolog can take any number of resourceids, how would you identify which one contains the context hook info?

Regards

Tony

I'm assuming that this is to do with associating context-sensitive help with a particular topic. If so, we already have this, in resourceid, with its attributes appname and id. Or am I missing something?
