Using the DITA Focus Area for announcements

As DITA usage grows and you find yourself needing to convey important
announcements to your user community, keep in mind to use the appropriate
event and announce facilities at DITA.xml.org, the DITA Focus Area set up
for us by OASIS.  This site is fully set up for syndication for users who
might subscribe to site updates, and the site has very effective
searchability (I usually get Google Alerts for term-specific updates the
next day, for example).  The DITA Focus Area editorial board encourages you
to utilize this resource as much as you can--our Standard succeeds best
when we have as many eyes as possible on the fruits of our efforts!
