For the record, regarding the 3rd page in both

the textref attributes have two problems:

1.  they refer to file.xml instead of LoC-catalog.xml, and more
importantly

2.  since they are supposed to be URI references to XML documents using
    a fragment ID and the only valid fragment ID into resources whose
    media type is XML is xpointer, the values should look more like:

textref="LoC-catalog.xml#xpath1(//book[child::isbn='1234']/title/text())
"
