Potential OASIS Press Release / official specification documents

The ballot will close at 11:45pm ET tonight. Assuming that there are no 'no' votes cast, the ballot will pass. The TC will need to prepare a new iteration of the specification files noting that status as 'OASIS Standard' with an approval date of '1 December 2010'. It is preferable to have these files in place prior to the press release being distributed; please let me know if you anticipate any problems so that Carol can plan accordingly.

The Consortium will distribute a press release in the event DITA 1.2 is approved as an OASIS Standard. Our target distribution date will be Tuesday, 7 Dec (but is dependent on the outcome of the ballot).

*Recognition*
While OASIS deeply appreciates the contributions of all members to our technical work, only Foundational- and Sponsor-level members elect to receive promotional benefits, such as inclusion in announcements directed to the press. The DITA 1.2 press release will acknowledge the following organizations:

If you represent one of these organizations, and you do *not* wish to be included in the press release, please notify me.

If you represent a Contributor-level organization participating in the OASIS DITA TC, and you wish to receive visibility for your role in the development of DITA 1.2, please contact me immediately for information on upgrading your membership to take advantage of this promotional benefit.

The body of the press release will feature quotes from Foundational- and Sponsor-level members represented in the DITA TC. Please email quotes to me, including a name and title at your organization to whom the quote can be attributed.
