And as the Chair of the OASIS DITA Technical Committee that produced
this specification, I offer my congratulations and thanks to all
members of the DITA TC, which designed and wrote this version, and
to members of the DITA Adoption TC, which developed introductions to
those new features, and helped review new and overall content for
this version of the spec. Ultimately, this specification reflects
specific requests from the user community, and it has received a
great deal of attention from users and vendors that we hope can been
appreciated in the final form (soon to be republished with the
approved title/date in all available formats). For everyone who has
contributed suggestions or comments, or tested features during the
review period, I offer my most profound thanks for helping to
explore new territory in DITA's grand scheme of content sharing and
repurposing! Ultimately, I hope readers of our content will be the
real beneficiaries of capabilities in DITA 1.2 that are meant to
help get the right information to the right person at the right
time.
There will be a formal announcement/press release from OASIS soon
that I'll post to the lists on copy; you can watch for it to forward
or publicize as appropriate to specific community lists that would
be interested.
